DIY Lightbox
I got a bit DIY this morning and made my own photography light box. I’m planning on trying to upload (and hopefully sell) some photos on istock soon, and needed a pure white background.
I got the instructions from the excellent lighting blog, Strobist. So easy. Cost me $4.50. A box. Some Tissue paper. White card. Stanley knife. Tape.
The Construction
I then just placed it on a table,...
Nevereverland
Nevereverland is back in Australia in December this year to celebrate Modulars 10th birthday.
No word on a lineup yet, but they have released a teaser video with some footage from last years festival (which was basically Daft Punk, preceded by a few hours of other artists I really liked, but hardly paid any attention to, as I couldn’t think of anything else but Daft Punk.)
It’s pretty much...
Most of the samples from Feed The Animals →
My favourite album by far this year is Girl Talks - Feed The Animals.
This wikipedia page lists most of the samples used in the album… and it’s a LONG list
Brainwave - Hump Drunk in Lexington
I’m doing some more work on my Mashup music this afternoon… my second complete track, Clunk Click, is almost done! I’m learning a lot as I go, and think my next track will be even better again.
You can listen to my first track, Hump Drunk in Lexington, on my imeem page.
Bonus Mountain Goats
Just because I can’t get enough Mountain Goats today, I thought I’d link to an old favourite… John Darnielle covering Ace of Base.
The Mountain Goats - The Sign
Mountain Goats & Kaki King - Thank you Mario but...
I love the Mountain Goats… John Darnielles sheer exuberance and personailty on stage always blows me away, and his joyous tone while singing such dark songs is amazing.
For his upcoming EP, John has teamed up with Kaki King on a tribute song to Toad from Super Mario Brothers entitled Thank you Mario but our Princess is in another castle.
I love it… the best thing he has done since...
I believe we are doing Big Day Out and I can’t wait, I love it down there.

I have this. I’m going to try and fix it.
Native Korean Rock & The Fishnets
Karen O is fronting a new band, Native Korean Rock & The Fishnets. The sound is very different to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but Karen O’s distinctive voice still sounds great over this new ensemble of bizzare backing instrumental. A lot of it has an 60’s AM-esque feel… with extra radio hollowness thrown in for good measure.
They had...
Ugandan Kids Cover Bjork
Bitone, a childrens home in Uganda have recorded an amazing album using nothing more than a laptop and a microphone. The whole album is available for purchase in mp3 format, or you can email granttbuhr@gmail.com for a hand packaged CD.
The best of the CD, is an absolutely amazing cover of Bjork’s, All Is Full of Love. It can be heard on the Bitone Myspace page, along with other tracks by...
